Alexis Davis first MMA fight came in Winnipeg, as she lost to Sarah Kaufman in 2007 via TKO.
Now, six years later, she will make her UFC debut in the same Canadian province, taking on Rosi Sexton at UFC 161
Earlier this week, Davis spoke to the media about the importance of females fighting in the UFC.
“It’s a huge honor to have this opportunity and to fight in Canada. I am glad I get to make my UFC debut back here. It is going to help the sport grow more and more, especially having more women on the main card. Amateur fighters coming up, (competing on pay-per-views) is what they can look forward to.”
“Thank you to the UFC for giving me this opportunity. It’s great to be back in Winnipeg.”
