Ryan Bader will not be able to make his UFC 160 fight against Glover Teixeira at UFC 160 on May 25. He has been reported to have been advised by his physician to not compete, due to a collateral ligament injury (MCL). He is expected to be out for six to eight weeks with no contact. Targeted return is currently late summer.
The MCL tear unfortunately is not a rarity in the sport. Dan Henderson was forced out of his bout against Jon Jones at UFC 151 last summer with the same injury.
James Te Huna, will be stepping in against Glover Teixeira. Te Huna is currently on a five fight win-streak, including two striking finishes. Te Huna was last seen stopping the Ryan Jimmo at UFC on Fuel in Feb. with a three round decision.
