This past weekend, MMA fans were treated to a pair of big events in the form of UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo and Bellator 234. While UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo aired in its entirety on ESPN+, a five fight main card for Bellator 234 aired via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
The tape delayed card, which was headlined by Linton Vassell defeating Sergei Kharitonov, brought in 318,000 viewers according to MMA Fighting. Other bouts on the card saw Sidney Outlaw defeat Roger Huerta, Aviv Gozali defeat Zaka Fatullazade, Haim Gozali defeat Artus Pronin and Austin Vanderford defeat Grachik Bozinyan.
There was some competition opposing the Bellator 234 broadcast in the form of WWE Smackdown on Fox, a pair of NBA Basketball games that brought in over a million viewers each and an NCAA Football game on ESPN 2.
Up next for Bellator MMA is Bellator London, which is headlined by Michael Page and Giovanni Melillo, but that entire card streams live on the Bellator App. There is no UFC event this weekend as well, as the promotion returns on December 7 with UFC Fight Night Washington DC.
