With the decision to move Nik Lentz to UFC on FOX 9 and a match with Chad Mendes, that left UFC officials to find a new opponent for Dennis Bermudez.
Bermudez will now face Steven Siler at UFC Fight For The Troops 3 in November.
Mendes-Lentz takes place on the main card on December 14 from Sacramento. Mendes (15-1) has won four straight – all via finish – since a loss to UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
Lentz (24-5-2) has won eight of 11 UFC bouts with one draw.
Bermudez (11-3) has won four straight since a loss to Diego Brandao, while Siler (23-10) is coming off a knockout of Mike Thomas Brown, a former WEC champion.
Jorgensen has fought under the Zuffa banner since 2008, putting together a 7-3 record in the WEC. Jorgensen opened his octagon career with wins over Jeff Curran and Ken Stone but has since gone just 1-3, although the losses came to top-ranked fighters Urijah Faber, Eddie Wineland and Renan Barao and included two “Fight of the Night” performances.
However here is a a whole new path at 125 for him
Meanwhile, McCall has been a part of the UFC’s flyweight division since the begining.. He struggled to get a win in his first three fights, suffering losses to top-ranked fighters Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson while also fighting to a draw with “Mighty Mouse” in that stretch. He rebounded at August’s UFC 163 event, earning a “Fight of the Night” win over Iliarde Santos.
