Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor was arrested last month in Miami for allegedly taking a fan’s cellphone and smashing it on the ground.
However, according to court records obtained by both TMZ Sports and ESPN, a lawsuit filed against McGregor by the victim, Ahmed Abdirzak, has been dropped. Abdirzak had been seeking $15,000 in damages for what transpired, which was also partially caught on video.
Even though the lawsuit against McGregor has been dropped, one thing McGregor still has to answer for is the legal charges still levied against him. McGregor also got some good news in that department recently, as two of the fighter’s charges were reduced. The fighter is due back in court tomorrow for arraignment, more should be known as far as where the legal matter is head by the time the proceedings are complete.
The lawsuit being dropped against McGregor now frees up the fighter to deal with other issues, including allegedly sexually assaulting a woman this past December as well as allegedly being involved in a bar fight this past Saturday.
McGregor also recently finished up serving a suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, while UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov still has three months to go.
