The filming for “The Ultimate Fighter: China” is expected to get under way in the coming months, and Cung Le will be involved in the reality show as expected, just not as a coach.
Not long after the UFC announced it’s plans to produce a season of TUF in China, Dana White relayed that Le was a leading candidate to coach the show. Now, however, White has announced that the feared striker’s role will be similar to what the UFC President’s has been in previous seasons.
“TUF China is happening,” White said. “(Cung Le) is going to be the ‘me’ in China. He’s there to remind everyone why they’re there and what’s going on. He was in the office two days ago and I walked him through everything with The Ultimate Fighter and he’s ready to go.”
TUF China will feature two fighters as opposing coaches. Who they will be, however, hasn’t been confirmed yet. TUF China will be the latest international version of the program, as the production of TUF “Australia vs. Canada” is set to get under way soon.
The 41 year-old Le has not fought in 2013 yet, as the middleweight has been sidelined in recent months due to elbow surgery he incurred.
