A pivotal light heavyweight tilt is headed to London.
Former divisional champ Phil Davis will take on Linton Vassell at Bellator 200 on May 25 at Wembley Arena, the promotion announced Tuesday.
The 33-year-old Davis has won all but one of his six Bellator bouts, the defeat a split verdict to Ryan Bader that cost him the light heavyweight crown at Bellator 180 in June. He’s since rebounded with a one-sided decision over Leo Leite at Bellator 186 in November.
Vassell last challenged Bader on the same bill that saw Davis best Leite, only for the champ to finish him by second-round TKO and snap a three-fight win streak. The two-time title contender returns to his native England with a Bellator record of 7-3.
Bellator 200 will also feature a middleweight title bout between reigning champ Rafael Carvalho and Gegard Mousasi and a welterweight tilt between the returning Michael “Venom” Page and David Rickels.
