Dustin Poirier Injured, Off UFC 230

Next months UFC 230 card has taken a big hit according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as Dustin Poirier has suffered an injury and has been pulled from a co-main event bout against Nate Diaz.

There is no word at this time as to the exact nature of Poirier’s injury or how long the fighter is going to be out of action for. It is also unknown at this time as to whether or not Diaz will remain on the card, as the UFC has less than a month to find a suitable replacement opponent.

Diaz (19-11-0) is set to return for the first time since dropping a decision to former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor at UFC 202. Diaz would also be returning to action for the first time in over two years, as UFC 202 took place in October of 2016. Diaz has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Ben Henderson by unanimous decision at UFC On Fox 5.

UFC 230 takes place on Saturday, November 3 from Madison Square Garden in new York, New York with Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis headlining.
