“It Sucks” says Frankie Edgar

Frankie Edgar has quickly became one of the best fighter in the world after capturing the title from BJ Penn.

Edgar defended the belt vs. Penn and went 1-0-1 against Gray Maynard. But, he was unable to with Benson Henderson, handing the title over to him and a subsequent rematch.

He is now following a third straight loss to UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Edgar will meet Charles Oliveira later this year, and recently talked about just how much he wants to taste victory again.

“It sucks having three losses in a row, but I have to play it for what it is,” Edgar said. “I don’t think I had any bad performances in that run. There are some things I need to work on technically and strategically, but I feel like I’m still on my way up. This is just a bump in the road and I’m going to get back on track.”

The two featherweights will fight at UFC 162 on July 6 as part of the pay-per-view main card. It will mark the first time since 2009 that Edgar isn’t competing in a scheduled five-round title affair.
