Hey now Aussie fans. Your time is here! the UFC will return to Australia with a UFC Fight Night card on December 6!
Mark Hunt has signed to meet Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in the headline fight of the UFC’s return to Australia.
The Fight Night card takes place on December 6 with the heavyweights scheduled for a five round clash.
Neither man has competed since suffering high profile losses at UFC 160. Silva failed in his championship bout with Cain Velasquez losing to the champion for a second time. Prior to his loss Silva produced two memorable underdog victories he knocked out Travis Browne before his unforgettable comeback upset of Alistair Overeem. The former Strikeforce fighter has also beaten Fedor Emelianenko and Andrey Arlovski in his eight year career.
Hunt’s unlikely fairy tale run towards UFC heavyweight championship was crushed in dramatic fashion by former champion Junior dos Santos. At the aforementioned Las Vegas pay per view, JDS finished Hunt with a spectacular spinning wheel kick in the third round of their slug fest. Hunt had previously amassed the longest win streak in the division. The 39 year old knocked out Cheick Kongo and Stefan Struve during his four fight streak.
