Miller draws Hooker in home state at UFC Atlantic City

The UFC’s most prolific lightweight will get back in the saddle in familiar territory.

New Jersey’s Jim Miller will lock horns with Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night 128 on April 21 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, the promotion announced Wednesday.

The 34-year-old makes his 28th walk to the Octagon (a 2013 no-contest versus Pat Healy notwithstanding) on a career-worst three-fight skid. His last loss came in the form of a unanimous decision defeat to Francisco Trinaldo at UFC Fight Night 119 in October. The last time he took Atlantic City, Miller suffered a second-round KO at Donald Cerrone’s hands in the main event of UFC Fight Night 45 in July 2014. His promotional record sits at 17-10.

Hooker has won two straight by stoppage at 155 pounds after alternating wins and losses over his first six promotional bouts as a featherweight. He scored a second-round KO of Ross Pearson last June before capping 2017 with a third-round tapout of Marc Diakiese at UFC 219. All five of his promotional victories have come before the final horn, and his three defeats on points.

The April bill is headlined by a previously reported lightweight tilt between contenders Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee.
