Jon Fitch wasn’t lying.
After recently revealing he was a free agent and in talks to join Bellator MMA, the former UFC welterweight contender and ex-WSOF champion has inked an exclusive multi-fight deal with the Scott Coker-led outfit, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reports.
Fitch’s signing and promotional debut will be formally announced soon.
The 40-year-old joined WSOF in 2013 following his release from the UFC, going 5-2 under the former’s banner and capturing its welterweight title. The promotion rebranded last year as the Professional Fighters League and subsequently vacated all of its championships, leading Fitch to request and obtain his release earlier this year. He last competed on the PFL’s first card this past June, submitting Brian Foster with a second-round side choke.
Fitch heads to Bellator on a four-fight win streak with a professional record of 30-7-1.
