UFC 218: Frankie Edgar Injured, Out Of Main Event
According to multiple reports, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar has suffered an injury and will not be cleared to face Max Holloway for the featherweight title at UFC 218.
The bout was set to headline the December 2 card from Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena.
Edgar (22-5-1) has previously challenged for the featherweight title and was hoping to join Georges St-Pierre, Conor McGregor, BJ Penn and Randy Couture as multi-division champions in the UFC.
Holloway (18-3) won the unified title back at UFC 212 with a victory over Jose Aldo.
