For 45-year-old Dan Henderson, Saturday night’s knockout loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC Fight Night 77 left him with a murky outlook.
Henderson (31-14) suffered his fourth straight loss via knockout, including two to Belfort in Brazil. The former Pride two-division champion is just 8-8 over 16 career Octagon appearances.
Despite the setback, though, Henderson didn’t appear ready to call it a career after the fight.
“Obviously, he caught me,” Henderson said. “I ducked right into it. From that point on, I knew what was going on.”
Following the delivering of the head-kick, Belfort (25-11) was able to unload with several shots on the fallen American. For “The Phenom,” the win was his 18th via knockout.
“I’m just disappointed in myself,” said Henderson, who was coming off a convincing victory over Tim Boetsch.
