UFC Welterweight Dan Hardy is to seek a 2nd opinion on his heart condition that forced his withdrawal from a UFC on Fox 7 fight against Matt Brown.
Two weeks ago it was made known that Dan Hardy had been diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome following a pre-fight Echocardiogram carried out. However further testing by a cardiologist could potentially lead to Hardy being cleared to return to action.
The UFC has sent him to see the specialist “Lorenzo and I called him last week. We’re going to send him to literally the best heart doctor in the country out in Los Angeles when he’s ready to go” UFC President Dana White said on Tuesday.
Hardy has never shown any signs of stress or symptoms related to Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, and up until his latest tests, the disease has never been revealed. As you can tell that it is unlikely the UFC will book another fight for him until he gets the 2nd opinion and is medically cleared.
