CM Punk finally has his next opponent.
UFC president Dana White confirmed welterweight Mike Jackson will be the next to face Punk, telling TMZ Sports “that’s the fight” on Thursday. Punk has not competed since losing his debut in September 2016.
Jackson and Punk are both 0-1 in the UFC, each losing their pro debut to Mickey Gall.
The fight has been rumored since early February and was targeted for UFC 225 on June 9 in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. White did not confirm when the fight will happen.
Punk, also known as Phil Brooks, hinted being on the Chicago card via Twitter when it was announced in February. Jackson appeared to confirm the fight as well on Thursday, adding that the bout will be at UFC 225.
